Alina Boelman, MD
Born and raised in Arizona, I began my adventure into medicine here in Tucson at the University of Arizona. After medical school, I traveled to California to complete my residency in pediatrics at Stanford University. My love for the desert and the people of Tucson brought me back to Arizona after I received the wonderful opportunity to join Catalina Pediatrics.
I believe in an integrative and holistic approach to healthcare as well as the importance of preventative medicine. I think being a pediatrician is such a privilege and am so grateful for the opportunity to care for kids in times of need as well as be part of the most intimate moments of a family’s life. When not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, traveling to new places, running, practicing yoga, creating healthy recipes to share with my patients, and reading new books.

Although I was born in New Hampshire, I have lived in Tucson all but four years of my life. I went to undergraduate school at Claremont McKenna College in Southern California. After four years in Los Angeles, I returned to Tucson with my wife, where we both began our careers in medicine. We went to medical school and did our residency training at the University of Arizona. I was very fortunate to have been offered a position at Catalina Pediatrics during my third year of residency. My wife, a practicing Obstetrician/Gynecologist, and I have two fantastic children, Rachel and Joshua.
Practicing pediatrics has given and continues to give me great joy. Watching families grow from day one to adulthood is amazing and it brings me pride. I am very fortunate to share these stories and accomplishments with incredible partners. These things make it so easy to go to work every day.
My interests outside the office include my family, Major League Baseball, travel, and bike riding.

Whether caring for a newborn or an adolescent, I emphasize communication and I believe an open-minded approach to parental concerns allows for optimal care and well-being of my patients. I joined Catalina Pediatrics in 2006 and have practiced pediatrics in Tucson for 22 years. I truly love caring for children from the time they are born until they leave the nest. It's an honor to watch your kids grow and change and to care for them over the years.
I grew up in California, attended Cal Berkeley as an undergraduate, medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed my pediatric residency at the University of Arizona. While balancing a full pediatric practice with family life, I also find time to assist our community's children through volunteer work with Integrative Touch for Kids, a local charitable organization that helps offers holistic healing touch therapies to children with chronic and acute illnesses and their family members. I have special interest in integrative medicine and international relief efforts. I love to spend time with my two busy young adult boys, and enjoy yoga, meditation, dance, music, and travel.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. I found my way to the University of Arizona for residency and fell in love with Tucson. I met my amazing wife, who was born and raised in Tucson. After practicing in California, I joined Catalina Pediatrics in 2012.
I enjoy seeing children of all age groups. I feel privileged to be able to provide medical knowledge and support to families and to share in the challenges and joys of raising healthy, happy children to young adults.
Outside of the office, my wife and I love spending time with our two children and taking part in all the activities Tucson's climate allows year-round, like running, hiking, and biking.

I am a native Tucsonan with my roots anchored deep in this desert soil. Both my grandfathers came to Arizona shortly after statehood, seeking, of all things, good health. My parents actually remember when The Lodge on the Desert was truly in the desert. I attended the University of Arizona for undergraduate and medical school, and residency as well. Following my pediatric residency I was asked to stay an extra year as a chief resident. During this year I was recruited to join Catalina Pediatrics, which was an honor as I felt this to be the most stable and well-respected pediatric practice in Tucson. In fact, Catalina Pediatrics has been caring for Tucson's children for more than four decades!
At Catalina Pediatrics I have discovered what all my pediatric training didn't prepare me for -- how wonderful it is to share in the joy of a newborn's arrival; to celebrate with his or her parents the attainment of a child's physical, mental, and emotional development; and lastly to educate and thereby comfort families during times of illness. I enjoy caring for all ages of young people and strive to make our interactions as pleasurable as possible. I have come to realize the act of parenting is by far the most important and challenging role we play in life and I hope I can be a source of support for your family.
My interests outside the office include CrossFit, skiing, wake surfing, and golfing. I also love to travel and spend time with my awesome husband and our adventurous four boys.

Although a native of the Old Pueblo, I have traveled far before settling in the city of my childhood. I studied anthropology at Dartmouth College, public health at Johns Hopkins, and medicine at the University of Arizona. My pediatric training includes Columbia University and the University of Arizona. My interest in the cultural aspects of health care led me to an Indian Health Service clinic on the Navajo reservation, to the Pima reservation with NIH researchers, and to a clinic for homeless youth in Honduras. I have seen disparities in health in all these places, as well as in the Middle East and Africa, and even in New York City. I enjoy practicing medicine in a place where the remarkable progress in public health, including vaccines and screening for chronic illness, allows us to raise healthy children who will grow into healthy adults. I joined Catalina Pediatrics in 1999, and am delighted to see my first babies becoming teens and to care for the children of former patients.
These days my husband and I are busy with our three children. Our interests include pottery, restoring cars, and spending time with our extended families.
